The Purpose of Ancore Health
Founder & CEO
Eric Passon founded Ancore Health in December 2016 in Franklin, TN. Eric has over 20 years of healthcare advisory experience in financial operations, mergers and acquisitions, technology innovation and traditional consulting services in startup and publicly traded environments.
Prior to Ancore Health, Eric spent 12 years at Southwind Health Partners and then The Advisory Board Company, most recently serving in an Executive Vice President role within the Consulting and Management Division. In this role, he led the financial operations consulting practice, including managing a team of interim CFOs, analysts and consultants who provided operational analytics and financial modeling supporting practice management, value based care, hospital performance management and strategy service lines. Furthermore, Eric's team developed a new business intelligence capability enabling medical groups to gain better insight into practice performance. He and his team fostered financially sustainable relationships between hospitals and physicians.
Prior to Southwind, Eric served as Vice President of Finance and Administration in the Anesthesia Services Division of TeamHealth.
Eric graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Tennessee, Martin. Eric lives in Franklin, TN and when not spending time with his wife, two kids (ages 7 and 11) and CC (Wheaten Terrier), you can find him biking the Natchez Trace or “working” from the Cape in the summer.
James Porter serves as a Director at Ancore Health. James has over 8 years of healthcare advisory experience in financial operations, mergers and acquisitions, technology innovation, compliance, and traditional consulting services.
Prior to Ancore Health, James served as a Senior Consultant at The Advisory Board Company consulting and management division where he performed financial and operation assessments of large multi-specialty medical groups as well as re-designed physician compensation plans. He managed a team of consultants implementing business intelligence products for employed medical groups and oversaw and led implementations to groups as large as 2,000 employed physicians. James has served as a Virtual Finance Director for medical group turnarounds regularly providing updates regarding on-going initiatives to Health System and Medical group CEOs. In this role, he also supported interim CFOs at large academic medical centers as well as not-for-profit community hospitals by creating and summarizing monthly reporting, performing market needs analysis, leading financial data structure redesigns, and clinical FTE standardization.
Prior to The Advisory Board Company, James served as a Senior Consultant at FTI Consulting. While at FTI, he performed 120+ fair market value assessments of physician practices under acquisition and compensation renewals.
James is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Engineering Science along with a minor in Engineering Management. When he's not helping his wife chase around their three sons and Goldendoodle, James enjoys playing golf, going fly fishing, and working in the yard. He is an avid Vanderbilt sports fan and loves trying new restaurants around Nashville.
Stephen Burgess serves as a Senior Consultant at Ancore Health. Stephen has 6+ years of financial and healthcare advisory experience in financial operations, technology innovation, compliance, and traditional consulting services.
Prior to Ancore Health, Stephen served as a Consultant at The Advisory Board Company consulting and management division where he performed financial and operational assessments of large multi-specialty medical groups, as well as re-designed physician compensation plans. He led the implementation of business intelligence products for employed medical groups as large as 7,500 employed physicians. Stephen has worked on projects focused on financial and operational optimization, as well as projects designed to assess market share, population health initiatives, and clinical variability.
Prior to The Advisory Board Company, Stephen served as an Associate at Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP (DHG). While at DHG, he worked in the assurance department with a concentration in healthcare and manufacturing.
Stephen is also a partner with Kinga Consulting, LLC, an organization that focuses on taking business principles into the non-profit sector. He and his wife, Samantha, started Kinga Consulting in an effort to educate and support non-profit organizations, in their journey to ensuring long-term sustainability and measurable success in their social endeavors.
Stephen is a graduate of Samford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Entrepreneurship, with a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. He and his wife are passionate Predators fans, outdoors enthusiasts, soccer players, and can often be found riding their motorcycles through middle-Tennessee.
Prior to Ancore Health, Chandan served as the Software Engineering Intern at Rubicon, Inc. In his time at Rubicon, he created an automated system to generate a response to additional documentation requests for claims denials. Chandan’s academic training has included big data and predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational economics, software engineering, algorithm design and analysis
Chandan is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Additionally, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune in Pune, India. In his free time he likes to explore places with friends like restaurants, murals, museums, historical sites, parks, comedy stand-up, watch games, and go to concerts. Chandan loves to visit national parks and go hiking. Chandan is also an avid soccer and squash player.
Evan Elmore serves as a Data Strategy Consultant at Ancore Health. Evan is skilled in analyzing large data sets and distilling complex analysis into clear solutions. He is proficient in R, SAS, SQL, Stata, and Tableau.
Prior to Ancore Health, Evan was pursuing his Economics PhD at Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, he served in both Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant roles, which included interesting projects such as the examination of the impact of drought on maternal and child health, the influence of childhood personality traits on adult health behaviors, and the effect of community health centers on short-term and long-term health.
Evan graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and earned a Master’s Degree in Economics, with a focus on Health Economics from Vanderbilt University. He and his wife welcomed their first child in December. When Evan isn’t changing diapers, he enjoys playing soccer, introducing friends to new board games, and exploring Nashville’s parks and greenways with his Springer Spaniel, Camden.
